Kokomo, Indiana (August 22, 2024)………Justin Grant leads the point standings for the Elliott’s Custom Trailers & Carts Sprint Car Smackdown XIII entering Friday night’s, August 23, event at Indiana’s Kokomo Speedway.
Grant (Ione, Calif.) captured his fourth consecutive opening night Smackdown victory on Thursday night, earning 347 points total throughout the night to stand atop the 50 drivers who competed in the event.
Following the completion of Friday night’s program, the combined points from Thursday and Friday’s event will be tallied and the top-eight overall will be locked into Saturday night’s 40-lap, $30,000-to-win feature on August 24.
Those same eight “locked-in” drivers will also compete in the King of the Hill, a series of three-lap duels featuring two drivers at a time competing in a bracket style tournament to determine the starting positions for the first four rows of the feature.
All other drivers beyond the top-eight will have to race their way in through their heats and last chance races on Saturday night in order to make their way into the feature starting lineup.
This weekend at Kokomo Speedway, gates open at 4pm Eastern on Friday/Saturday. Cars will hit the track at 6:30pm on Friday and at 6pm on Saturday.
On Friday, general admission tickets are $30 with kids 12 and under are free. Pit passes are $30 for members and $35 for non-members (all ages). On Saturday, general admission tickets are $35 with kids 12 and under are free. Pit passes are $40 for members and $45 for non-members (all ages).
