SCHUDY STREAKS TO VICTORY AT US 36

Osborn, Missouri (July 21, 2023)………Kory Schudy of Battlefield, Mo. streaked to victory on Friday at Osborn, Missouri’s U.S. 36 Raceway for his second straight win with the USAC Wholesale Batteries Midwest Wingless Racing Association Sprint Cars in 2023.

The 2021 MWRA champion, running the Jon Sawyer Racing No. 28, led from start to finish to record his sixth career series win.

Point Leader Wyatt Burks of Topeka, Kan. came home in second place on this evening, trying valiantly to catch Schudy throughout the 25-lapper at the wheel of the Wyatt Burks Racing No. 11w.

Nixa, Mo. chauffeur Wesley Smith hopped into the Lewis Racing No. 2 for the first time ever to complete the podium in third place.

Meanwhile, Overland Park, Kan. wheelman Luke Howard, driving the Howard No. 2H finished fourth and Kearney, Missouri’s Brad Wyatt collected fifth in the Valor Racing No. 41 after racing from his 13th starting position.

Rounding out the top-10 were Chris Parkinson from (Gladstone, Mo.) sixth, Dakota Earls (Independence, Mo.) seventh, Zach Clark (Raymore, Mo.) eighth, Chad Winfrey (Gladstone, Mo.) ninth and Jason Billups (Holt, Mo.) 10th.

The performance of the night went to Earls, a recent high school graduate, who navigated his way to seventh after starting dead last in 16th at the wheel of the Dakota Earls Racing No. 15E.  Beforehand on pit row the setup for Earls was described as, “Throwing the kitchen sink at it” after a abysmal heat race go. But ended with Dakota earning the Hard Charger award after his run in the feature.

Earlier in the evening Schudy and Burks duked it out in the first heat race in a spirited go with Schudy holding on for the win, while taking high point honors, leading to a start on the pole after rolling a zero on the invert. While (Warsaw, Mo) racer Riley Kreisel would win the second heat race going away over Clark.

The Wholesale Batteries USAC MWRA sprints will next be in action this coming Friday at Electric City Raceway, in (Butler, Mo) for the second time this season on July 28th. And then the next night on July 29th at Nevada Speedway in (Nevada, Mo) for the first and only time in 2023.
