LEWIS ADDS FIRST USAC CRA VICTORY AT MOHAVE VALLEY TO 2023 CHECKLIST

Mohave Valley, Arizona (October 14, 2023)………Ricky Lewis has raced all over the country and has won all over the country in his 2023 campaign.

On Saturday night at Arizona’s Mohave Valley Raceway, Lewis (Camarillo, Calif.) tallied his first career AMSOIL USAC CRA Sprint Car victory, leading the final 22 laps aboard his Dave Brown/Morris Farms – Physical Medicine Consultants – Mahle/DRC/Stensland Chevy.

The winningest non-wing sprint car driver in the USA throughout the 2023 season now owns 15 wins on the season in six different states (Michigan, Indiana, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Missouri and Arizona).

Furthermore, Lewis has now captured victories in 2023 across different series, ranging from the Great Lakes Traditional Sprints to the Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series to the Midwest Sprint Car Series to the USAC Midwest Wingless Racing Association and USAC CRA, and also scored a couple local, unsanctioned victories for good measure.

Lewis started third in Saturday’s Mohave Valley field but worked his way up to the lead by lap nine when he passed USAC Triple Crown champion J.J. Yeley for the lead.  From there, Lewis controlled the pace to the finish line, winning by a 1.203 second margin over Tommy Malcolm (Corona, Calif.) who started all the way back in the 16th position.

Recently crowned USAC Western States Midget champion Brody Fuson (Bakersfield, Calif.) scored a third with Braden Chiaramonte (El Cajon, Calif.) earning his best career USAC CRA finish.  Woodland Auto Display Fast Qualifier R.J. Johnson (Laveen, Ariz.) rounded out the top-five while David Gasper (Goleta, Calif.), making his initial USAC CRA start, raced from 22nd to 6th to earn hard charger honors.
