Speedway, Indiana (January 23, 2024)………Bryan Hulbert has been named the lead announcer for the USAC AMSOIL Sprint Car National Championship’s 2024 season opening events during February’s seven-race Winter Dirt Games XV series in Florida.

A veteran announcer with the American Sprint Car Series and a fixture on the microphone at the Chili Bowl Nationals for more than a decade, Hulbert will assume dual roles with USAC during the events at Ocala Speedway on February 9-10 and Volusia Speedway Park on February 12-13 before returning to Ocala Speedway on February 15-16-17.  Hulbert will handle duties on both the track’s public address system as well as on FloRacing’s live stream of each event.

Hulbert most recently announced a USAC NOS Energy Drink Midget National Championship thriller at Beloit, Kansas’ Mitchell County Fairgrounds in 2023, and delivered the call for what was one of the most memorable finishes of the year – a pass for the victory by Bryant Wiedeman with two laps to go.

Having the opportunity to be the voice for that particular race was memorable for Hulbert, and he’s eager to get started with USAC in Florida this winter.

“It means a lot to me to announce for a series with the kind of reputation and prestige that USAC has,” Hulbert said.  “To even be called upon and asked to go down and represent USAClike that, it’s very humbling and I’m really looking forward to it.”

Hulbert, originally hailing from Las Cruces, N.M. has been announcing at racetracks for 18 seasons.  He started as a trackside reporter in 2006 before taking on the role of lead announcer in 2007 at dirt tracks such as Southern New Mexico Speedway and Texas’ El Paso Speedway Park.

He’s a jack of all trades in motorsports, having worked extensively in the departments of marketing, public relations, graphic design, ad design, commercial production, voiceovers, hanging banners, production work, you name it.  This occasion also won’t be Hulbert’s first rodeo in Florida.  In years past, he’s announced the King of the 360s in the Sunshine State as well as events at Ocala.  However, Volusia is one that’ll be new in his repertoire.

Hulbert has engrossed himself in the racing scene, and his affinity for USAC has been ingrained in him since his earliest days as he took a keen interest for the series’ drivers and events via the weekly newspaper that served as the bible for all motorsports aficionados, Hulbert included.

“I’ve known about USAC since I was a kid,” Hulbert recalled.  “National Speed Sport News was the weekly go-to, so I’d always read about what was going on.  USAC has a great product and it’s stood the test of time in what it delivers and what it produces.  I’ve had the chance to call the sprint car side and I’ve had a chance to call the midget side.  Both have been a lot of fun to be a part of.”
