GAS CITY, MONTPELIER, ELMA & STOCKTON NEXT FOR IGNITES


DAWSON (3), PETERSON & RAIN TOP IGNITE NEWS


Four venues in three states host USAC Ignite Midget racing this week. Two are in Indiana and the others are in Washington and California.


The Midwest series visits Gas City I-69 Speedway Friday and Montpelier Motor Speedway Saturday. The Northwest competitors are at Grays Harbor Raceway in Elma, Wash. Saturday and the Western series is at Stockton (Calif.) 99 Speedway Saturday.


Jared Peterson of Stanwood, Wash. continued his mastery in the Northwest Ignite series Saturday, winning the 25-lap feature at Skagit Speedway in Alger, Wash. He passed Todd Hartman on lap four and led the rest of the way to beat Chase Goetz, Garret Johnson, Garrett Thomas and Michael Millard.


Bryant Dawson of Phoenix, Ariz. led 79 of 80 possible laps in USAC Ignite Midget racing at the Las Vegas (Nev.) Motor Speedway Bullring this weekend, taking all three main events. He led all 30 laps Saturday night to beat Michael Fanelli, 3. Christine Breckenridge, Austin Blair and Marina Turner. Sunday he led all 25 laps in the first of two features to beat Blair, Breckenrdge, Turner and George Blacker. In the second Sunday feature he lad the first 20 laps, slipped behind Fanelli on lap 21, then led the final four laps to beat Fanelli, Blair, Breckenridge and Turner.


Rain forced cancellation of Monday night’s scheduled Eastern Ignite Midget race at Ace Speedway in Altamahaw, N.C. The next Eastern event is the Midwest/Eastern event at Columbus, Ohio September 15.
