FAST & FURIOUS 4s TO AUGMENT CONCORD FOCUS EVENTS

FAST & FURIOUS 4s TO AUGMENT CONCORD FOCUS EVENTS

The “Fast and Furious Fours,” four-cylinder, front-wheel drive production cars, have been added to the 2011 Concord (NC) Speedway USAC Ford Focus racing programs as a support class.

No stranger to Concord, having raced most Saturday nights on the half-mile oval, they will compete six times in 2011 on the track’s quarter-mile oval in concert with the USAC Ford Focuses.

The driver earning the most points in these support races will earn the right to test a Ford Focus Midget and a second test drive will be awarded through a random drawing among all drivers who compete in these events.

The six-race series begins May 19 and continues with races July 24 and 27 and August 10, 17 and 24.

USAC’s Eastern Ford Focus Series, now in its eighth season, incorporates 21 races in North and South Carolina, Virginia, Ohio and Indiana, six of which are scheduled at Concord.

Scott Hunter is the defending Eastern Ford Focus Champion and finished third behind winner Nick Drake in the 2011 series opener at Dillon, S.C.
