IGNITES AT CONCORD, ACE, DURHAM AND ELMA;

LAMB DOUBLES, BRYANT TOPS AGAIN AT LVMS

Three USAC Eastern Ignite Midget races are on tap this week and the Washington Dirt series also swings into action. The Eastern series visits Concord (N.C.) Speedway Wednesday night, then travels to Ace Speedway in Altamahaw, N.C. Friday and stops at Orange County Speedway in Durham, N.C. Saturday. Saturday night’s Washington Dirt race is at Grays Harbor Raceway in Elma.

Chris Lamb leads the Eastern standings into this week’s tripleheader and Chase Goetz is the Washington Dirt point leader.

Lamb, of Colfax, N.C., swept a pair of Honda Eastern/Midwest features last weekend. Friday night he won the 30-lap feature at Kil-Kare Speedway in Xenia, Ohio. He led all but one lap of the race and led the final 11 to beat Cooper Clouse, Ricky Bowers, Gage Walker and Justin Whittall.

Saturday Lamb repeated at Columbus (Ohio) Motor Speedway, leading 23 laps of the 40-lap race after passing Cooper Clouse to pace the final six. Clouse was second ahead of Walker, Billy Gaule and Wil Raber. Austin  Nemire led the first 16 laps of the race.

The Eastern and Midwest calendars have added an August 23 event at the Motordrome Speedway in Smithton, Pa.

Bryant Dawson of Phoenix, Ariz. stormed from the last starting spot to win Saturday night’s 30-lap Honda USAC Western Pavement Ignite Midget feature at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway Bullring. Trailing Dawson at the checkered flag were Jarid Blondel, Shawn Buckley, Christine Breckenridge and Cody Jessop.
