PENNSYLVANIA IGNITE EVENTS REMOVED

PENNSYLVANIA IGNITE EVENTS REMOVED

This weekend’s Honda USAC Midwest/Eastern Ignite Midget races in Pennsylvania have been removed from the race schedule.

Friday night’s event at Motordrome Speedway in Smithton, Pa. and Saturday night’s event at Lake Erie Speedway in North East, Pa. were originally targeted as point-paying events for the Midwest pavement series and non-point-paying “special events” for the Eastern series.

Unfortunately, circumstances have conspired to create a field of cars insufficient to sustain the type of racing program of the expected caliber for these series. Therefore the events have been removed from the calendar.

“We are disappointed at the cancellations but are hopeful that under different circumstances we can revisit these events at a later time,” says series chief steward Craig Dori.

The Honda Eastern Ignite Midgets return action September 27 and 28 respectively at Altamahaw and Hickory, N.C. The Honda USAC Midwest pavement and Eastern Ignite Midget series will conclude their 2013 campaigns at the Columbus (Ohio) Motor Speedway October 12.
