KOKOMO, WAYNESFIELD, BEAR RIDGE AND 34 HOST SPEED2 MIDGET ACTION THIS WEEK

KOKOMO, WAYNESFIELD, BEAR RIDGE AND 34 HOST SPEED2 MIDGET ACTION THIS WEEK

Four venues host USAC Speed2 Midget races this week, three with points implications. Midwest Thunder Midgets are at Kokomo (Ind.) Speedway Friday night as the undercard for the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions while Saturday night’s MTM race at Waynesfield (Ohio) Raceway Park is a “special event” and will not offer series points.

Saturday’s IMRA Midget race at 34 Raceway in Burlington, Iowa and Saturday’s DMA Midget race at Bear Ridge Speedway in Bradford, Vt. are full points races. Adam Taylor leads the IMRA standings entering the race in Burlington and Dean Christensen sits atop the DMA points entering the race in Bradford.

Jessica Bean of Farmland, Ind. led all 35 laps to win last Saturday night's USAC Speed2 Eastern Midget race at Huntsville (Ala.) Speedway. The victory vaulted her into the series point lead in a tie with George Kurtz, who was second Saturday. Nolan Allison, Jagger Parker and Sam Hatfield rounded out the “top-five” in the feature event.

Tom Paterson of San Martin, Calif. led all 25 laps to win Saturday night’s USAC Speed2 Western US Midget race at Merced (Calif.) Speedway. Fast qualifier Adam Lemke finished second ahead of Jesse Love IV, Annie Breidinger and Blake Brannon.

Korbyn Hayslett of Troy, Ohio won Saturday night’s 20-lap USAC Speed2 Midwest Thunder Midget race at Montpelier (Ind.) Motor Speedway. He was trailed by Stratton Briggs, Aaron Leffel, Cory Guingrich and Corey Bedwell. Bedwell led the first two laps and Briggs the next two before Hayslett led the remaining 16 circuits.

Andy Baugh of Mason City, Ill. led all the way to win Saturday night’s 20-lap USAC Speed2 IMRA Midget race at Spoon River Speedway. Mitchell Davis took second ahead of Dillon Morley, Gedd Ross and Aaron Schuck.
