SPEED2 MIDGETS VISIT TEXAS, ILLINOIS, IOWA AND INDIANA THIS WEEKEND

SPEED2 MIDGETS VISIT TEXAS, ILLINOIS, IOWA AND INDIANA THIS WEEKEND

Kyle Jones, Adam Taylor and Aaron Leffel lead their respective USAC Speed2 series into events this week as tracks in four states host races.

Jones leads the Gulf Coast series into Saturday’s race at Superbowl Speedway in Greenville, Texas. Taylor sits atop the IMRA standings entering races Saturday at Spoon River Speedway in Canton, Ill. and Sunday at 34 Raceway in Burlington, Iowa. Leffel is the leader in the Midwest Thunder series which visits Montpelier (Ind.) Motor Speedway Saturday.

Joe Krawiec of Bristol, CT won Saturday night’s 20-lap USAC Speed2 DMA Midget race at Bear Ridge Speedway. The 2013 series champion took the lead on the final lap for the victory. Jeff Champagne led lap one and Andy Barrows led 2-19. Anthony Nocella finished second and Dean Christensen was third, followed by Andy Barrows and Adam Whitney. The DMA series resumes June 3 at Bear Ridge.

Rain forced cancellation of races last Friday at Kokomo, Ind and Saturday at Waynesfield, Ohio (Midwest) and Saturday’s IMRA event at Burlington, Iowa.  The Kokomo race has been rescheduled for Friday night, June 30.
