USAC SPEED2s HEAD FOR VENTURA, MALTA, 281, 34, WAYNESFIELD & KOKOMO

California, New York, Texas, Iowa, Ohio and Indiana all host Speed2 races this week. Wednesday finds the Speed2 Western US Midgets at the Ventura (Calif.) Fair. The DMA Midgets visit Albany-Saratoga Speedway in Malta, N.Y. Friday. Saturday brings Gulf Coast Midget racing at 281 Speedway in Stephenville, Texas, Deery Brothers IMRA Midgets to 34 Raceway in Burlington, Iowa and a “special event” for Midwest Thunder Midgets at Waynesfield (Ohio) Raceway Park. Sunday’s race is at the Kokomo (Ind.) Speedway for the Midwest Thunder Midgets.

Stratton Briggs of Anna, Ohio led all 20 laps to win Sunday night’s USAC Speed2 Midwest Thunder Midget race at Kokomo (Ind.) Speedway. Aaron Leffel finished second ahead of Kent Christian, Cory Guingrich and Korbyn Hayslett.

George Kurtz and Nolan Allison each recorded 25-lap USAC Speed2 Eastern Midget feature wins Sunday night at Kentucky Motor Speedway. Kurtz passed Sam Hatfield on lap four and led the rest of the first race to beat Jessica Bean, Allison, Neal Allison and Hatfield. In the closer, Allison led the final 21 laps after passing Jake Trainor on lap five. Bean was again second ahead of Neal Allison, Kurtz and Trainor. Nolan Allison won Saturday night’s 40-lap USAC Speed2 Eastern Midget race at Highland Rim Speedway in Ridgetop, Tenn. He grabbed the lead from Jagger Parker on lap four and led the rest of the way to beat Kurtz, Bean, Neal Allison and Hatfield.

Korbyn Hayslett of Troy, Ohio won Saturday night’s USAC Speed2 Midwest Thunder Midget race at Waynesfield (Ohio) Raceway Park. Anthony Haas finished second ahead of Brad Strunk, Brad Racer and Chris Whipple. The race was a “special event” and did not offer series points.

Kyle Jones of Kennedale, Texas backed up Friday night’s USAC Gulf Coast Midget win at Boyd, Texas with Saturday night’s victory at Superbowl Speedway in Greenville, Texas in his Best Deal Services machine. Jones again led all 20 laps to beat Weston Gorham, Tyson Hall, Kade Taylor and Pierce Urbanosky. At Boyd Raceway he led all 20 laps to beat Travis Scott, Tyson Hall, Weston Gorham and Keith Martin.

Dean Christensen of Granby, CT captured Saturday night’s USAC Speed2 DMA Midget feature at Bear Ridge Speedway in Bradford, Vt. He took the lead from Jeff Horn on the white flag lap and led to the checkered flag to beat Horn, Seth Carlson, Manny Dias and Derek O’Hearn.
