SPEED2 MIDGET RACING COMES TO CALIFORNIA, TEXAS, ILLINOIS AND INDIANA THIS WEEK

SPEED2 MIDGET RACES COMES TO CALIFORNIA, TEXAS, ILLINOIS AND INDIANA THIS WEEK

USAC Speed2 racing visits Kern County Raceway Park Friday with Adam Lemke leading the Western US Midget standings and Jesse Love IV atop the Overall series points. Saturday brings a trio of races, beginning with the Deery Brothers IMRA race at Spoon River in Canton, Ill, where Dillon Morley leads the contingent. Saturday’s Gulf Coast race is at Superbowl Speedway in Greenville, Texas as Kyle Jones tries to protect his point lead. At Montpelier (Ind.) Motor Speedway, Aaron Leffel continues as the point leader in the Midwest Thunder Midget series.

Toni Breidinger of Hillsborough, Calif., USAC’s winningest all-time female driver, scored her 12th career victory Saturday night at Madera (Calif.) Speedway, winning the 30-lap USAC Speed2 Western US Midget race. She passed Jesse Love IV on lap 23 and led the final eight laps to beat fast qualifier Adam Lemke, Love, Tom Paterson and Annie Breidinger.

Joe Krawiec of Bristol, Conn. led all 25 laps to win Saturday night’s USAC Speed2 DMA Midget race at Bear Ridge Speedway in Bradford, Vt. Dean Christensen, Derek O’Hearn, Adam Whitney and John Heydenreich rounded out the “top-five” at the checkered flag.

Tyson Hart of Oquawka, Ill. led all 20 laps to win Saturday night’s USAC Speed2 Deery Brothers IMRA Midget race on “Kids Back Pack Night” at Spoon River Speedway in Canton, Ill. Chase McDermand took second as five drivers battled race long for third place, which went to Mitchell Davis, followed by Andy Baugh and Adam Taylor.

Stratton Briggs of Anna, Ohio won Saturday night’s 20-lap USAC Speed2 Midwest Thunder Midget race at Montpelier (Ind.) Motor Speedway. He led the final nine laps after passing Aaron Leffel and held on to beat Corey Bedwell, Leffel, Bill Dunham and Jim Jones.
