7 SPEED2 MIDGET RACES ON TAP THIS WEEKEND
Multiple USAC Speed2 races are slated in three different series this weekend. The Eastern Midgets start Friday at Ace Speedway in Altamahaw, N.C. and follow with Saturday’s race at Hickory (N.C.) Motor Speedway. On Monday, the series visits Caraway Speedway in Asheboro, N.C. Jessica Bean continues to command the Eastern standings with a 52-point lead.
Dillon Morley sits atop the Deery Brothers IMRA Midget points entering races Saturday at 34 Raceway in Burlington, Iowa and Sunday at Spoon River Speedway in Canton, Ill.
Aaron Leffel is the point leader of the Midwest Thunder series which races Saturday at Montpelier (Ind.) Motor Speedway and Sunday at Kokomo (Ind.) Speedway.
Nolan Allison of Greensboro, N.C. won Saturday night’s 35-lap USAC Speed2 Eastern Midget race at Carteret County Speedway. He passed Neal Allison on lap 16 and led the rest of the way to beat Neal, George Kurtz, Jake Trainor and Jessica Bean.
Adam Taylor of Shorewood, lll. led all 12 laps to win Saturday night’s USAC Speed2 Deery Brothers IMRA Midget race at 34 Raceway. Dillon Morley took second ahead of Jacob Sollenberger, Kurt Mueller and Chris Bolander.
Dean Christensen of Granby, Conn. won Saturday night’s 25-lap USAC Speed2 DMA Midget race at Bear Ridge Speedway. He took the lead from Jeff Horn on lap six and led the rest of the way to beat Seth Carlson, Derek O’Hearn, Joe Krawiec and Horn. Christensen emerged from the race with a 16-point lead over Adam Whitney.
