SPOON RIVER AND BEAR RIDGE HOST SPEED2s THIS WEEK

SPOON RIVER AND BEAR RIDGE HOST SPEED2s THIS WEEK

Spoon River in Canton, Illinois and Bear Ridge Speedway in Bradford, Vt. host USAC Speed2 races this weekend. Dillon Morley leads the IMRA series to Spoon River while Dean Christensen tops the DMA contingent heading into Bear Ridge. Both races are Saturday night, September 9.

Nolan Allison of Greensboro, N.C. added a pair of Eastern wins to his streak which has now reached four-straight and five of the last six. He led all the way to win last Saturday night’s 35-lap race at Hickory (NC) Motor Speedway. Jagger Parker took second ahead of Chris Lamb, series point leader Jessica Bean and Neal Allison. His fourth-straight series win came Monday night at Caraway Speedway in Asheboro, NC. He passed Sam Hatfield on lap 12 and led the rest of the 35-lapper to beat Bean, Neal Allison, Hatfield and Jake Trainor. Rain forced cancellation of Friday’s race at Ace Speedway in Altamahaw, N.C.

Morley, of Moline, Ill. Won last Saturday night’s 15-lap USAC Deery Brothers Speed2 IMRA Midget race at 34 Raceway in Burlington, Iowa. He led the final six laps to beat Tyson Hart, who led the first nine. Adam Taylor was third ahead of Jeff Mallonee and Kurt Mueller. Taylor, of Shorewood, Ill., outraced Morley to win last Sunday night’s 20-lap race at Spoon River. Morley led the first three laps, then Taylor led the rest to beat Morley, Brent Burrows, Broc Hunnell and Austin Archdale.

Mitchell Davis of Auburn, Ill. led all 20 laps to win this past Sunday night’s USAC Speed2 Midwest Thunder Midget race at Kokomo (Ind.) Speedway. Series point leader Aaron Leffel finished second ahead of Alex Watson, Corey Bedwell and Gary Loney. Track lighting issues forced cancellation of last Saturday night’s race at Montpelier (Ind.) Motor Speedway.
