7 SPEED2 RACES SLATED IN 4 STATES
Seven USAC Speed2 races are on tap this weekend in four different states. Friday brings the Western U.S. Midgets to Madera (Calif.) Speedway, while the Eastern Series visits Wake County Speedway in Raleigh, N.C. On Saturday, races unfold at Spoon River Speedway in Canton, Ill. (IMRA), East Carolina Motor Speedway in Swansboro, NC (Eastern), Montpelier (Ind.) Motor Speedway (Midwest Thunder) and Madera (Calif.) Speedway. The Engler IMRA series returns to Quincy (Ill.) Raceways Sunday.
Joe Krawiec of Granby, Conn. passed Jeff Horn on lap eight and led the final 18 laps to win Saturday night’s 25-lap USAC Laquerre’s Sports DMA SPEED2 Midget race at Bear Ridge Speedway in Bradford, Vt. Adam Whitney, point leader Jason Goff, Derek O’Hearn and Will Hull completed the “top-five.”
Adam Lemke of Hollister, Calif. won Friday night’s 20-lap USAC Western Speed2 Midget race at The Dirt Track at Kern County Raceway in Bakersfield, Calif. Ashley Hazelton-Heredia, Elvis Rankin, Tyler Slay and Joey Iest rounded out the “top-five.”
Tyler Slay of Watsonville, Calif. won Saturday night's USAC Western Speed2 Midget race at Santa Maria (Calif.) Raceway, beating Adam Lemke and Elvis Rankin to the checkered flag.
Rain forced postponement of Saturday night’s Engler USAC IMRA Speed2 race at Canton, Ill. to September 15.
