SPEED2 MIDGET TRIPLE THREAT ON TAP SEPT. 13-14

SPEED2 MIDGET TRIPLE THREAT ON TAP SEPT. 13-14

Speedway, Indiana (September 10, 2019)………Midwest Thunder Midgets double-up this weekend in Indiana while the Engler IMRA Midgets make their second and final voyage of the season to the state of Iowa as part of a triple-threat slate of USAC Speed2 Midget action this Friday and Saturday across the Midwest.

Chett Gehrke (Broken Arrow, Okla.) is on a hot streak after winning three-straight Midwest Thunder Midget features at Gas City I-69 Speedway in Gas City, Ind. where the series makes its fifth appearance of the year this Friday night, September 13.  Series point leader Aaron Leffel (Springfield, Ohio) was victorious in the first meeting back in May before Gehrke began his three-race tear.

The Midwest Thunder series makes the short drive over to Montpelier Motor Speedway in Montpelier, Ind. the next night, Saturday, September 14, for the fourth race of the year at the track.  Stratton Briggs (Anna, Ohio), Alex Watson (Columbus, Ohio) and Leffel have won the previous three.

Moving west to Lee County Speedway on Saturday, September 14, where the IMRA Midgets make their return trip to the Donnellson, Iowa dirt oval.  Andy Baugh (Mason City, Ill.) won there in July, one of his series-leading six victories during a season in which he leads the points in pursuit of a second-straight series crown.

Friday at Gas City, pits open at 3pm Eastern, gates open at 4:30pm, hot laps at 6:45pm, qualifying at 6:45pm and racing at 7:30pm.  Adult general admission is $18 and kids 12 and under are free.  Pit passes are $30 apiece.  The Midwest Thunder Midgets event will also include Sprint Cars, American Ethanol Modifieds and Hornets.

Saturday at Montpelier, gates open at 1pm, hot laps at 4pm and racing at 5pm.  Adult general admission is $15, kids 12 and under are free with a paid adult.  Pit passes are $30 apiece.  Midgets will be joined by UMP Modifieds, Super Streets, Thunder Cars, FWD Compacts and Trucks.

Saturday at Lee County, gates open at 4:30pm Central, hot laps at 6pm and racing at 6:30pm.  Adult general admission is $10, seniors 60-plus are $8, students age 11-17 are $5 and kids 10 and under are free.  Pit passes for adults are $30, kids age 7-13 $20, kids age 4-6 are $10 and kids age 3 and under are $5.  IMRA Midgets will be joined by the Iowa Sprint Car League, 305 Wing Sprints and IMCA Modifieds.
