CRA SPRINTS RETURN TO SANTA MARIA SATURDAY


Mike Spencer has a 63-point lead over Blake Miller in the latest Lucas Oil USAC/CRA Sprint Car standings but that's not enough to sit tight this weekend as the series returns to Santa Maria (Calif.) Speedway. A total of 74 points are available.

Spencer finished second and Miller fourth in the June 14 outing at Santa Maria, won by Tyler Brown. Miller was also the fastest qualifier that night.

Spencer and Miller each have one victory so far this season, Spencer winning at Perris, Calif. in March and Miller at Las Vegas, Nev. in February.

Brown ranks sixth in the current series points but the Santa Maria victory was his only "podium" finish so far in 2008.
