LUKE, HE IS YOUR WINNER; HALL WINS HEWITT CLASSIC AT WAYNESFIELD

LUKE, HE IS YOUR WINNER; HALL WINS HEWITT CLASSIC AT WAYNESFIELD

Waynesfield, Ohio (July 3, 2023)………Luke Hall raced to his second USAC Midwest Thunder SpeeD2 Midget feature victory in his last three starts during Monday night’s Jack Hewitt Classic at Ohio’s Waynesfield Raceway Park.

Hall (Ludlow Falls, Ohio) trailed early race leader Matt Lux for the first 13 circuits before taking over up front.  From there, Hall led the final seven to capture the victory in his Kyle Heitmeyer-owned machine.

Bryce Massingill (Troy, Ohio) charged from fifth on the final lap to grab second with Matt Lux (Manilla, Ind.) third, Jakeb Boxell (Zanesville, Ind.) fourth and reigning series champion Stratton Briggs (Anna, Ohio) fifth.

Zach Wigal (Belpre, Ohio) finished sixth and retains a 24-point lead in the series’ championship standings.

Gunnar Lucius and Kyle Ford shared Performance Powder Coating Hard Charger honors.  Lucius (Delphos, Ohio) advanced from 14th to 7th while Kyle Ford (Needham, Ind.) picked his way from 17th to 10th.

Abby Hohlbein (Cloverdale, Ohio) earned VMS Motorsports Fast Qualifying honors and finished 8th.
