FLORIDA, OHIO, MICHIGAN DRIVERS AMONG PHOENIX WINNERS

AS 2k11 “GENERATION NEXT TOUR” DEBUTS IN THE DESERT

 


Drivers from Florida, Ohio and Michigan joined Arizona, California and New Mexico drivers in victory lane as winners of round one A-Mains in the first USAC Mopar .25 “Generation Next Tour” event of the 2011 season Sunday in Phoenix, Ariz. – the “Duel in the Desert.” A total of 10 states were represented by participants, with 132 total cars entered in the event at South Mountain Speedway hosted by the Valley of the Sun Quarter Midget Club.


 


Conducted at the Valley of the Sun oval southwest of downtown Phoenix, the event launched the 12-race “Generation Next Tour” which will visit 10 states.


 


Arizona pilots Maggee Miller of Queen Creek (Senior Honda), Austin Snyder of Surprise (Junior Animal), Bryant Dawson of Phoenix (Mod and Heavy AA) and Amber Matich of Gilbert (Heavy 160) posted wins for the home state, while Devon Strader was the top Blue Rookie.


 


Cameron Morga of Albuquerque (Senior Animal) and Michael Fanelli of Rio Rancho (Unrestricted Animal) were New Mexico winners, while Skyler Dale of La Cresta (B) and Tyler Ankrum of Yucaipa (Light 160) registered victories for California. Aaron Doty of Highland, Calif. was the top Red Rookie.


 


Florida winners included Tyler Clem of St. Petersburg (Junior Honda), Garrett Jones of West Palm Beach (Light World Formula) and Nicholas Snyder of Marco Island (Heavy Honda), while Carson Hocevar of Portage, Mich. (Junior Stock) and Ross Rankine of Willard, Ohio (Heavy World Formula) also earned victories.


 


The USAC Mopar .25 “Generation Next Tour” now prepares for “Music City Mayhem” March 25-27 in Nashville, Tenn.
