WINDOM WINS “4-CROWN,” EAST REPEATS AS CHAMPION

Bobby East of Brownsburg, Ind. and his Tony Stewart/Curb-Agajanian Racing team celebrated their second consecutive TRAXXAS USAC Silver Crown championship Saturday night after Bobby’s sixth-place finish in the “4-Crown Nationals” finale at Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio left him with a six-point margin over series runner-up Chris Windom.

Windom, of Canton, Ill., passed East on lap four and led the rest of the 50-lap race to win in the RW Motorsports/Mike Curb-Agajanian Rotondo Weirich/Curb Records Beast/Wallace Toyota. Matt Westfall finished second ahead of Shane Cockrum, Taylor Ferns and Dave Darland.

East led the first three laps and protected his “top-10” run in the Chevrolet Performance/Curb Maxim/Kistler as the race wore on. Tracy Hines, who was second on the white-flag lap, flipped exiting turn four but escaped injury.

Windom’s win made him the eighth different race winner in eight 2013 TRAXXAS USAC Silver Crown races.
