FOCUS RACING ON 4 FRONTS THIS WEEKEND

LUTTMER #1 AT RMR; RAIN FORCES ACE CANCELLATION

USAC’s Midwest, Western and Utah Ford Focus series continue this week with events at four racing facilities in Indiana, Utah and California. The Midwest Ford Focuses are at Gas City (Ind.) I-69 Speedway Friday and are joined by the Midwest Focus Young Guns Saturday at Montpelier (Ind.) Motor Speedway. The Western Ford Focuses and Focus Young Guns compete at Bakersfield (Calif.) Speedway (Dirt) and at All American Speedway in Roseville, Calif. (Pavement) Saturday and the Western /Utah series combine for Saturday’s race at Rocky Mountain Raceways in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Austin Luttmer of West Jordan, Utah led all 25 laps to win Saturday night’s USAC Western/Utah Ford Focus race at Rocky Mountain Raceways. Gregg Fuette, fast qualifier Chuck Groat, Ron Duncombe and Guy Sainsbury rounded out the “top-five.” Series point leader Jim Waters originally finished second but his car failed post-race technical inspection. He continues, however, as the point leader.

Rain forced cancellation of Monday’s scheduled Eastern Ford Focus race at Ace Speedway in Altamahaw, N.C.
