FOCUSES VISIT STOCKTON, HICKORY OVALS THIS SATURDAY

Eastern and Western USAC Ford Focus activity unfolds this weekend as 2010 championships continue to be contested. The Eastern venue is Hickory (N.C.) Motor Speedway, while the Western venue is the Stockton (Calif.) 99 Speedway.

Scott Hunter of Concord, N.C. leads the Eastern and Carolina series into Saturday’s race at Hickory, a track where he has already posted a second and a third.

Kyle Edwards of Fountain Valley, Calif. and Jarid Blondel of Orange, Calif. are the respective “overall” point leaders in the Western Ford Focus and Young Guns series entering Saturday’s events at Stockton, where the AMSOIL Western Sprints and Mopar Western Midgets share the billing.

Edwards has top-10 finishes in all three of his 2010 pavement Focus starts so far, but Denair, Calif. driver Bobby Runyan’s recent victory at Stockton has him atop the standings. Brandon White of Eureka, Calif. is atop the Western Pavement Young Guns points after his recent Stockton win.
