2 NIGHTS AT ACE FOR EASTERN HPDs;

BUCKLEY, KEY SCORE AT LEMOORE; COEBURN CANCELLED

Ace Speedway in Altamahaw, N.C. hosts back-to-back USAC Eastern HPD Midget races Friday and Saturday as the 2014 series begins its final stretch.

Scott Hunter continues to lead the standings, 112 points ahead of Calvin Carroll entering the two Ace races. Saturday’s originally-scheduled Eastern race at Lonesome Pine Raceway in Coeburn, Va. was cancelled.

Davey Key of Fresno, Calif. led all 20 laps to win Friday night’s 20-lap USAC HPD Western Dirt Midget feature at Lemoore (Calif.) Raceway, It was his first series start! Western point leader Shawn Buckley finished second ahead of Western Dirt point leader Ashley Hazelton, Davey Marcotte and Wally Pankratz.

Buckley, of Simi Valley, Calif., led all 25 laps to win Saturday night’s feature at Lemoore Raceway. Hazelton took second ahead of Wally Pankratz, Marvin Mitchell and Key.

The USAC Western HPD Dirt Midgets resume action November 14 at Plaza Park Raceway in Visalia, Calif. while Madera (Calif.) Speedway hosts the USAC Western HPD Pavement Midgets October 18.
