HPDs VISIT OHIO & VIRGINIA

HPDs VISIT OHIO & VIRGINIA;

LAYSER, LAMB STAR IN EASTERN HPDs, VENTURA WET

USAC HPD Midget racing occurs in Ohio and Virginia this week. Friday’s Midwestern race is slated at Limaland Motorsports Park in Lima, Ohio and Saturday’s Midwest race is at Waynesfield (Ohio) Raceway Park. Eastern participants are preparing for Saturday night’s race at Shenandoah (Va.) Speedway.

Chris Lamb of Colfax, N.C. led all 35 laps to win Saturday night’s USAC Eastern HPD Midget race at Caraway (N.C.) Speedway. Fast qualifier Matt Lundstrom finished second ahead of Scott Hunter, Calvin Carroll and Andrew Layser. Lamb piloted the Scott’s Sports Cards Coins and Jewelry/Radical Race Gear Hawk/Ford.

Andrew Layser of Philadelphia, Pa. scored his initial USAC feature victory in Friday night’s 35-lap USAC Eastern HPD Midget race at Wake County Speedway in Raleigh, N.C. He passed Kyle Craker on lap five and led the rest of the way to beat Lamb, Lundstrom, Craker and George Kurtz.

Rains forced cancellation of Saturday’s Western HPD race at Ventura (Calif.) Raceway. The Western series resumes July 30 with a pavement race at Meridian (Idaho) Speedway.
