MICROS SET FOR TWO NIGHTS AT SHAMROCK CLASSIC MARCH 6-7

Du Quoin, Illinois (January 24, 2020)………The 5th annual Shamrock Classic presented by Dooling Machine will have an added dimension this year when the Winged 600cc Micros arrive to compete over two nights, March 6-7, on the indoor dirt oval at the Southern Illinois Center in Du Quoin.

Micro competitor entry is now open for the event at https://usacracing.ticketspice.com/2020-shamrock-micro-entry, with a deadline of February 28 to reserve a pit stall.

On the opening night, Friday, March 6, the micro format will include timed hot laps followed by heat races and dashes.  That leads into the Saturday, March 7, finale, which will coincide with the USAC NOS Energy Drink Midget National Championship Midwest opener.  Midgets will compete in a full program while Micros will begin with the B-Mains and conclude with the $750-to-win A-Main.

For just $5, come on out and witness Friday’s racing program at the Southern Illinois Center.  Tickets can be purchased at the gate.  Adult general admission tickets are $5 apiece while kids age 5 and under are free.  Pit passes are $25 each.  A two-day pit pass deal can be purchased for $55.

Saturday Shamrock Classic tickets are now on sale at http://www.shamrockclassicduquoin.com/.  General admission tickets are $20 for age 13 and up.  Children’s general admission tickets (Age 6-12) are $10.  Kids 5 and under are free.  Reserved seats are $25 and include a “Shamrock Classic” T-Shirt with purchase, an offer which is available only through February 7.  Tickets can also be purchased at the gate on raceday.

Pit passes are available at the door on event day for $35 as well.  If you purchase a reserved seat, you can upgrade to a pit pass at the door.

On Friday, the building opens at noon Central with the drivers meeting at 6pm and hot laps at 6:30pm, followed by heats and dashes.

For Saturday, the building opens at 8am, followed by the micro drivers meeting at 3:30pm central, with midget hot laps slated for 4pm and immediately followed by Micro B-Mains and A-Main prior to the resumption of the full USAC Midget program with heats, qualifying races, last chance races and the 50-lap main event.
