MORE THUNDER! MALCOLM WINS GLENN HOWARD CLASSIC AT PERRIS

Perris, California (September 23, 2023)………Tommy Malcolm’s breakout season continued on Saturday during the Glenn Howard Classic at California’s Perris Auto Speedway.

Malcolm (Corona, Calif.) picked up his third feature victory of the 2023 AMSOIL USAC CRA Sprint Car season and his second of the year at Perris in his Dino Napier-owned No. 5x.

Starting fourth on the grid, Malcolm trailed a pair of Gansens throughout much of the first half of the feature.  Pole sitter Don Gansen led the first 11 circuits before third-starting Chris Gansen took over on lap 12, but that proved to be short-lived.

On the 13th lap, Malcolm took over the lead for good, leading the remaining 18 laps to score the win in the 30-lapper.

USAC CRA championship point leader Brody Roa (Garden Grove, Calif.) finished as the runner-up with Austin Williams (Yorba Linda, Calif.) third.  Austin Grabowski earned In Memory of Jim & Chet Gardner Hard Charger honors with his advancement from 15th to 4th.  Charles Davis Jr. (Buckeye, Ariz.), the 2021 Glenn Howard Classic victory, rounded out the top-five.
