FRANKOSKI EYES SATURDAY'S CAROLINA FINALE SATURDAY

FOCUSES COMPLETE SATURDAY’S MADERA “TRIPLEHEADER"


Jeremy Frankoski of Huntersville, N.C. hopes to put the finishing touches on a USAC championship when the Carolina Ford Focus Series concludes this Saturday night at Concord Motor Speedway. Similarly, Nik Romano of Atherton, Calif. hopes to enhance his California Pavement Ford Focus point lead when that series joins the USAC Western Sprints for Saturday’s “doubleheader” at the Madera (Calif.) Speedway.


 


At Concord, a special exhibition for USAC Junior Ford Focuses is also planned as part of Saturday night’s program, which features twin feature events for the Ford Focuses.


 


Cody Swanson of Norco, Calif. won Saturday night’s 20-lap USAC California Dirt Ford Focus feature at the Ventura Raceway. Jake Swanson of Anaheim, Calif. finished second ahead of Andrew Mulhearn, Gordy Edwards and series point leader Brody Roa. Cody Swanson led all 20 laps. The California Dirt series concludes November 21 at Ventura.


 


Dennis Simunovich of Hollister, Calif. scored his sixth feature victory of the 2009 USAC Junior Focus campaign Saturday night, leading all 20 laps at Ventura (Calif.) Raceway. Casey Martinez finished second, ahead of Ethan Quinn, Nick Drake and Alex Jacobsen. Series point leader Kyle Edwards finished sixth. The Junior Focus series resumes October 31 at Ventura.
